1. Start with hair that is completely dried and detangled before using Straight Forward.
2. The lights on the tool will not illuminate when it is first/initially plugged into the electrical outlet (the tool has not started heating).
3. To heat Straight Forward, press the power button for 3 seconds and a white light will illuminate between the default temperature of 170°C & 340°F.
4. To select a different temperature, quickly press and release the power button until the light next to your desired temperature illuminates. 
5. While the tool heats to a higher temperature than its current setting, the lights—starting from 170°C & 340°F—will repeatedly illuminate upwards in succession until the tool has reached temperature. If you select a lower temperature than its current setting, the lights—starting from 230°C & 450°F—will repeatedly illuminate downwards in succession until the tool has reached temperature.
6. Once the tool has reached temperature, the white light will become solid next to its current temperature.
7. Apply your L’ange heat protectant of choice.
8. Insert a 1-2” section of hair between the plates. 
9. Starting near your roots, gently press down.
10. Slide the iron from root to tip at a moderate pace.
11. Repeat the process on additional sections of hair until desired style is achieved.
12. To turn the styling tool off, press and hold power button for 3 seconds. The lights will turn off.
13. Unplug Straight Forward and wait until completely cooled before storing away.
