- Start with hair that is completely dried and detangled before using Straight Forward.
- The lights on the tool will not illuminate when it is first/initially plugged into the electrical outlet (the tool has not started heating).
- To heat Straight Forward, press the power button for 3 seconds and a white light will illuminate between the default temperature of 170°C & 340°F.
- To select a different temperature, quickly press and release the power button until the light next to your desired temperature illuminates.
- While the tool heats to a higher temperature than its current setting, the lights-starting from 170°C & 340°F-will repeatedly illuminate upwards in succession until the tool has reached temperature. If you select a lower temperature than its current setting, the lights-starting from 230°C & 450°F-will repeatedly illuminate downwards in succession until the tool has reached temperature.
- Once the tool has reached temperature, the white light will become solid next to its current temperature.
- Apply your L'ange heat protectant of choice.
- Insert a 1-2" section of hair between the plates.
- Starting near your roots, gently press down.
- Slide the iron from root to tip at a moderate pace.
- Repeat the process on additional sections of hair until desired style is achieved.
- To turn the styling tool off, press and hold power button for 3 seconds. The lights will turn off.
- Unplug Straight Forward and wait until completely cooled before storing away.
