How To Fill the Water Tank:
- Make sure your tool is OFF. Never attempt to fill the tank while the tool is ON.
- Remove the water tank cover.
- Fill the water bottle with distilled water only.
- To avoid buildup in your flat iron, do not use tap, purified, or spring water.
- Insert the needle-nose tip of the water bottle into the water tank.
- For best results, tilt both the bottle and the tool by 45°.
- Gently squeeze the water bottle until the tank is nearly full of water (10 ml max fill).
- Carefully swirl the tool to remove air bubbles and ensure that your tank is filled.
- Replace the tank cover.
- If your tank becomes empty during styling, turn the tool OFF to refill and then turn it ON again to resume styling.
- Depending on the length and thickness of your hair, you may need to refill the tank every 1-3 styling sessions.
How To Turn On Your Tool:
- Slide the button at the bottom of the handle to unlock the plates.
- Plug the device into an electrical outlet (110-240V).
- Turn your tool on by pressing and holding the power button.
- (Control buttons are inside the tool between the digital display & ceramic plates.)
- Select your preferred temperature by pressing the plus “+” or minus “-” buttons.
- The tool will beep when it reaches your desired temperature and is ready to style.
- To style with steam, press the button with the steam icon and make sure the blue steam indicator light is on.
- The tool will start to produce steam once it reaches 250°F.
- When the plates are closed, the tool will emit steam approximately every 5 seconds.
To Straighten Hair:
- Hair should be clean, detangled, and completely dry.
- Apply your L’ange heat protectant of choice.
- Divide hair into smaller, more manageable sections.
- Wear the heat-resistant glove on the hand that will be guiding your hair.
- Insert a section of hair no larger than 1” between the plates, starting near the roots.
- Gently squeeze the plates together as you slowly glide the iron from root to tip.
- Repeat on remaining sections of hair until your desired style is achieved.
- It may be necessary to complete more than one pass on certain areas, depending on the texture and thickness of your hair.
- When you are finished styling, press and hold the power button to turn the tool off and then unplug it.
- Once the tool has completely cooled, store it in a cool, dry location.
Pro Tip: For best results, the tool should be used at a slower pace than a traditional flat iron. The tool releases steam every 5 seconds, so it may take 15-30 seconds (depending on the length of your hair) to complete a section and allow the steam to penetrate consistently.
To Curl Hair:
- We recommend removing the heat-resistant tips for curling hair.
- Hair should be clean, detangled, and completely dry.
- Apply your L’ange heat protectant of choice.
- Insert a strand of hair no larger than 1”. (Those with shoulder length hair or longer may want to start around the mid-shaft.)
- Wear the heat-resistant glove on your hand that will be guiding the hair.
- Hold the tip of the tool to further help guide the hair.
- Gently squeeze the plates together as you slowly glide the iron down the hair.
- Twist the iron (in your preferred direction) as you glide downward.
- Once you’ve reached the ends, gently release.
- If necessary, use your finger to shape the curl, then let it fall and cool.
